![]() I just got the MSI Vega 56 AirBoost OC last weekend and have been having this issue. Is there just an eBay or Amazon cable I can try? So the problem is, I need a way to get two 8 pin connectors into the card even if they won't necessarily have the full specified power behind them, given the card won't draw that in the first place. Especially outside of intensive applications. So while it may get close to the draw limit it'll never go over. ![]() ![]() Gamer's Nexus measured the card to only ever pull 180 to 210 watts unmodified (I'm not gonna touch the card settings):Īnd I've found resources that claim that the Mini PCI-E connectors on the board and the PCI-E slot itself is good for 120+120+75 watts (Two Mini PCI-E cables that are 6 pins with a third power pin connected + the slot) I'm also only running a single Xeon W3690, no dual CPU here so the load on the PSU will be lesser. The power consumption is why I picked the V56 instead of the V64 in the first place. The card wants two 8 pin connectors, but before you leap on me and say "Do the Pixlas mod!" I'm gonna stop you right there and show that its not required. I recently picked up an MSI Radeon RX Vega 56 Air Boost OC Graphics Card on eBay, but I've run into a problem trying to hook the card up.
